Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will consider the views expressed by the Federation of Irish Societies in Britain on behalf of victims of institutional abuse with reference to the Residential Institutions Redress Bill, 2001, (details supplied); if he will consider changing the Bill to accommodate the concerns raised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods): I have received a copy of the letter referred to by the Deputy. It is a very constructive contribution to the ongoing consultation process. I am giving consideration to the letter in the context of the enactment of the Bill and I will outline fully the position on each issue raised in it when the Bill is considered in detail on Committee Stage.
