19. Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the actions she has taken following the publication of the report, Iarnród Éireann: The Way Forward; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24145/01]

Minister for Public Enterprise (Mrs. O'Rourke): The report, Iarnród Éireann: The Way Forward, was published in July last, and since then my Department has been in discussion with the chairman of CIÉ regarding the implementation of the report.

[740] I am also following up with the implementation of that part of the report for which I have responsibility, in particular the technical issues associated with separating Irish Rail from the CIÉ group, and those parts which deal with expanding the size of the board and developing a more strategic approach to rail policy.
