380. Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of illegal drug substances which the Garda located in the Carlow-Kildare division during 2000-01; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22766/01]

Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. O'Donoghue): Garda authorities have informed me that suspected illegal drugs were located in 784 cases in 2000 and in 874 cases from 1 January up to 1 October 2001 in the Carlow/Kildare division.
