Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will reconsider the decision by the Department's building unit to reject the application received from Arklow Community College, Arklow, County Wicklow for funding for an extension and ancillary works; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods): The application from County Wicklow VEC for an extension and ancillary works at Arklow community college was accepted by my Department. A design team was appointed in April 2000 and architectural planning of the project is progressing. Officials of my Department's building unit met a representative of Wicklow VEC and its consultant architect on 28 June 2001 to discuss the college's stage 2 submission, outline sketch scheme. Its design team was requested to resubmit a revised submission incorporating the changes requested.
