[16881/01] Miss de Valera Miss de Valera Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands (Miss de Valera): I have no plans to introduce national trust legislation. The State already has a substantial and representative portfolio of heritage properties, the majority of which are in the care of Dúchas, the heritage service of my Department. Expert advice on the protection of heritage is provided by the officials of my Department and by the Heritage Council, which is an independent statutory body. The input of voluntary organisations with particular expertise on heritage issues is also welcomed. Dáil Éireann 537 Written Answers. Architectural Heritage. Questions 20010612
