235. Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to an application for a home school liaison teacher (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16262/01]

Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods): All second level schools that are designated as disadvantaged have been invited to participate in the home, school and community liaison scheme and have been allocated additional teaching resources to facilitate their participation. There are no plans at present to extend the scheme at second level. However, I assure the Deputy that the needs of the school in question will be considered in the context of any future review of the scheme.
