120. Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Defence if an inquiry is being conducted into alleged incidents that occurred on the naval flagship L.E. Eithne on the weekend of 21 to 23 April 2001; the nature of the alleged incidents; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13852/01]

The allegations referred to in these questions are being investigated by the Garda authorities and it would therefore be inappropriate for me to comment on the matter. In the normal course of events, a full military investigation will take place following the Garda investigation.
