Written Answers - Schools Refurbishment.

[179] 154. Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will revise his Department's decision to approve the replacement of only one of two boilers in a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that as both boilers are equally defective, consumption of heating oil is well in excess of 2000; and if he will now arrange to have both boilers replaced at the earliest possible date. [13345/01]

Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods): My Department received an application in this instance for the replacement of one boiler only. A letter from the consultant engineer outlining the situation pertaining to the second boiler was recently examined within my Department. Since the second boiler is operating satisfactorily, it is not considered necessary to replace it at this time.
