Ahern asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding the granting of pocket money to elderly patients in health board nursing homes; the weekly amount; if it has been increased to £13 in all cases; if it must be requested or if it is automatically given to the patient; the person who must authorise the keeping of the money for funeral expenses; and if this can be done without the approval of the patient.
