Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 166 of 15 February 2001, the staffing schedule for the schools in question for 2001-02 has yet been finalised; and if he will give early consideration to the retention of the fourteenth teaching post. Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods): The staffing schedule for the 2001-02 school year has recently been finalised. Under the terms of the schedule, the school's enrolment of 371 pupils on 30 September 2000 is not sufficient to allow the retention of the 14th mainstream class teacher for the 2001-02 school year. Regrettably, therefore, this post will not be continued from the end of the current school year. The board of management of the school in question was notified in writing of this position on 6 April 2001.
