Dáil Éireann - Volume 534 - 12 April, 2001

Written Answers - Garda Stations.

104. Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the action he has taken in the past three years in regard to the provision of a new Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare; the current and precise position in regard to this proposal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11224/01]

Minister of State at the Department of Finance (Mr. Cullen): I would refer the Deputy to the reply to his Question No. 206 on 3 April 2001.

I can assure the Deputy that the search for a site for a Garda station in Leixlip is being accorded top priority by the Commissioners of Public Works. As soon as a suitably located site of adequate size and at reasonable cost is identified, it will be purchased.
