663. Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will intervene on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo and sanction an extension to a school bus route; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8003/01]

Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods): An extension of the school bus route has already been sanctioned which would bring the service within 0.6 miles of the pupil's home. This is considered to be a reasonable level of service. In view of the safety issues raised, the matter will be reviewed and the Deputy informed of the outcome as soon as possible.
