Mr. Foley asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will list, in respect of County Kerry for each of the years 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000, the grants, projects or schemes funded by her Department, or any agency under the aegis of her Department; the receiving body or organisation; and the amount allocated in each instance. Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands (Miss de Valera): The Deputy will be aware that my Department provides grants to numerous individuals and bodies, particularly in the context of schemes relating to Gaeltacht areas. It would not be possible to prepare a detailed breakdown of this expenditure, as requested by the Deputy, in the time available. However, I have arranged for my Department to collate these details, and they will be forwarded to the Deputy shortly.

In relation to the allocation of grants administered by the independent bodies under the aegis of my Department, details of such activities and expenditure can be found in the annual reports and accounts published by these bodies. I have no function in these matters.
