An Ceann Comhairle Séamus Pattison An Ceann Comhairle: Before coming to the Order of Business, I propose to deal with a notice of motion under Standing Order 31 from Deputy Owen. Mrs. Owen Mrs. Owen Mrs. Owen: I seek the Adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss the need to establish a code of discipline for the Judiciary given the reported comments of a judge who implied that it is permissible for a man to beat a woman without fear of sanction. The judge also commented on the use of alcohol when a man “drinks like a man”. An Ceann Comhairle Séamus Pattison An Ceann Comhairle: Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be one contemplated by Standing Order 31.
