Dáil Éireann - Volume 526 - 21 November, 2000 Written Answers. - Visa Applications. Mr. Haughey Mr. Haughey 644 171. Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the reason the Irish consulate in Istanbul, Turkey will not accept an application for a holiday visa from a Turkish citizen (details supplied) until February 2001, even though he [644] wishes to visit Ireland for Christmas 2000; if he will intervene in this case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26426/00] Mr. Cowen Mr. Cowen Minister for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Cowen): Neither the Irish Embassy in Ankara nor the Irish Consulate in Istanbul has any record or recollection of the person named by the Deputy presenting a visa application nor of an application from that person being presented in recent weeks. Neither mission would ever refuse to accept an application. If the Deputy can supply further details, I may be able to assist him. Dáil Éireann 526 Written Answers. Visa Applications.
