112. Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance the amount paid in probate tax in the past two years and to date in 2000. [23721/00]

Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy): I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the yield from probate tax in the past two years and to date in 2000 is as follows: 1998, £19.7 million; 1999, £24.9 million; and 2000, £20.1 million*.

* Latest figures for eight months ended August 2000. September has not been included as final figures are not yet available.
