Mr. Ring Mr. Ring
188. Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands when a Dúchas official will inspect the lands of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, as promised on 5 July 2000, to finalise his appeal on the designation of his lands. [21049/00]
Miss de Valera Miss de Valera
Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands (Miss de Valera): The person named appealed against the designation of his lands. The appeal was not granted on internal review by Dúchas. He decided to have his appeal referred to the SAC appeals advisory board. The board has conveyed its recommendation to me and I will be advising the landowner of my decision within the next week. As the board operates independently of Dúchas, I am unable to confirm if any commitment was made by the board to visit the landowner in question.
