In view of the fact that the Department does not hold the information regarding counties, we have requested the chief executive officer of the North Eastern Health Board to contact the Deputy directly to furnish more information on moneys allocated to projects in County Louth. The North Eastern Health Board comprises counties Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. The following information [394] outlines the allocations made to the North Eastern Health Board since 1997. In 1997 the health board took over the funding of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, County Louth. Until 29 May 1997 the hospital was directly funded by the Department. Capital ExpenditureThe total amount of capital funding made available by my Department to the North Eastern Health Board for the years 1997 to 1999 is shown in the table below:
It is not possible to give a precise breakdown of the figures by county as some of the payments made were for capital purposes generally and a distribution of these payments by county is not available in the Department.
