70. Mrs. Barnes asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans, if any, he has to reinstate the Advisory Committee on the Education of Deaf Children which was suspended when the SERC Committee was established. [16149/00]

Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods): It is my intention to establish a representative advisory committee to offer guidance to my Department on a range of key issues relating to the future development of education services for the deaf.

My Department is currently working on arrangements for the establishment of this committee.
