Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will provide funding for the main Carrowtigue road from Aughleam to Belmullet; and for the Doohoma road in County Mayo. Decisions on the roads selected will be announced soon and will be based on ensuring the provision of one access road of high quality in to each Gaeltacht in the country. The Gael[329] tachts of Erris, Achill and Tourmakeady will be included in this programme. Mr. Ring Mr. Ring 320. The following table indicates the amounts sanctioned on a county by county basis in the years 1998 and 1999, and so far this year, under Subhead E. of my Department's Vote in respect of roads, piers and harbours.
