Mr. Currie asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of applicants on local authority housing waiting [306] lists for the latest date for which figures are available for the Clondalkin and Lucan areas; the number of local authority housing units under construction or planned in 2000; and the way thus figures compare with those for each of the past ten years. Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Molloy): According to the assessment of local authority housing needs undertaken in March 1999, the net number of households on the housing list for South Dublin County Council was 2,396. My Department does not have details on the breakdown for the Clondalkin and Lucan areas.

Details of house completions at county and county borough level over the last ten years can be found in the Housing Statistics Bulletins that are published by my Department. Copies of these bulletins are available in the Oireachtas Library.
