Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24 will obtain a cataract operation; if he will make a direct representation to the appointed hospital to ensure that this person receives this procedure as soon as possible; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin): The responsibility for the provision of services in the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital now rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate this matter and to reply directly to the Deputy.
