Mr. O'Donoghue Mr. O'Donoghue
Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. O'Donoghue): A major restructuring and renovation project at Loughrea Garda station, costing approximately £950,000, is nearing completion.
The works entail incorporating the adjoining married quarters to the existing station, constructing a three storey extension to the rear and an additional storey to the side of the premises. An oil-fired central heating system is being installed and the entire electrical system is being upgraded. New garages and stores are being pro vided at the rear of the station, together with a vehicle compound and car park.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that there are no plans, at present, to centre new functions at this station.
