24. Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on the need to retain the [725] facility at St. Michael's Hospital for use as a care facility for patients. [18258/99]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Cowen): My Department has recently received submissions on this matter from St. Michael's public hospital, St. Vincent's University Hospital and the Eastern Health Board. These submissions contain a wide range of options on the possible utilisation of St. Michael's private hospital. My Department is closely examining these options and will revert to the parties involved at the earliest possible date.
