609. Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of houses built by each local authority and corporation for each of the years from 1989 to 1998; and the total to be built for 1999. [17995/99]

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Molloy): The number of dwellings completed/ acquired by local authorities for each of the years 1989 to 1998 is published in my Department's Annual Housing Statistics Bulletin, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.

It is estimated that local authorities will complete/acquire in excess of 3,700 houses this year.
