Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will appoint a resource teacher for children of the travelling community on a shared basis between St. Michael's junior national school and St. Michael's senior national school, Cootehill, County Cavan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin): My Department has recently received an application from the schools in question seeking the appointment of a resource teacher to cater for traveller children attending the schools. The case put forward by the schools is currently being [491] examined by my Department's inspectorate. The schools will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible.
