Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has received an application from Clonmellon national school, County Westmeath, for the erection of new classrooms to cater for the increasing school population and the further anticipated increase in this area; if this submission will be dealt with immediately; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin): I can confirm that an application for the provision of a two classroom extension at Clonmellon national school has been received in my Department.

The application is currently being assessed by the planning and building unit of my Department.
