Dáil Éireann - Volume 503 - 28 April, 1999 Written Answers. - Autism Services. Mr. G. Mitchell Mr. G. Mitchell 124. Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Science if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 is receiving all her entitlements from his Department in view of the fact she is raising an autistic child; if any further measures are available from his Department or other agencies to assist her; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11119/99] Mr. Martin Mr. Martin 1654 [1654] Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin): The child in question attends Ballyowen Meadows special school, Stillorgan, County Dublin. This is a special school for pupils with autism. My Department provides transport to and from the school. Health support services are provided for pupils attending this school by a team of health professionals, funded by the Eastern Health Board, who are based on the same campus as the school. I understand that the Deputy has also raised this matter with the Minister for Health and Children and the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs. I would expect that the Departments in question will pursue the issue raised by the Deputy in so far as their areas of responsibility are concerned. Dáil Éireann 503 Written Answers. Autism Services.
