Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be approved for the summer jobs scheme in view of the fact that he has received the maintenance grant and was accepted into college; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs (Mr. D. Ahern): In order to qualify for participation in the students summer jobs scheme, students must be 18 years or older. As the person

concerned will not be 18 years of age until January 2000, he cannot be approved for participation in the scheme.
