Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on the recently published consultant's report on development in the Dublin and mid east areas, commissioned by local authorities in the areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey): The strategic planning guidelines for the greater Dublin area, which I launched last month were commissioned by local and regional authorities in the Dublin and mid-east regions in conjunction with my Department which also contributed a portion of the funding for the project. A copy of my speech at the launch which sets out my views on the guidelines will be forwarded to the Deputy.
