551. Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of meetings his Minister of State has had with adult education organisations over the past six months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9693/99]

Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin): The Minister of State with responsibility for adult education has hosted four formal meetings with adult education organisations in the past six months. In addition to these, he has had a number of informal meetings with adult education organisations.

Officers of my Department have regular meetings with adult education organisations in the course of their duties.
