Mr. O'Donoghue Mr. O'Donoghue
Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. O'Donoghue): I wish to inform the Deputy that I recently met with IMPACT, the union that represents the majority of those working in the probation and welfare service to outline the current position in relation to the recommendations of the expert group and to assure them of my commitment to the service.
I informed IMPACT that I would be taking up the matter of extra staff with the Department of Finance. I am currently negotiating with the Department of Finance on this issue and I will be talking to IMPACT again.
