408. Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if contract documents for the Crossmolina sewerage treatment plant, County Mayo have been examined and approved by his Department; and if approval will be given for commencement of the scheme in 1999. [10234/99]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey): This scheme is included in my Department's 1999 water and sewerage services investment programme as a scheme to start construction. Contract documents for civil and mechanical elements of the scheme have been submitted to my Department, but a certificate of completion of planning is awaited from the local authority before examination of the documentation can be finalised.
