[439] 116. Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has completed the survey of science facilities in second level schools; if so, the conclusions drawn from this survey; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7427/99]

Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin): A questionnaire was sent to all second level schools for completion at the end of 1998. A large percentage of schools completed and returned the questionnaire and the data obtained from these schools is currently being analysed. It is intended that this analysis will be completed shortly and measures to address identified areas of need will then be finalised and put in place.
