72. Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance when a tax free allowance will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7567/99]

Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy): I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that, according to the information available to the inspector of taxes, the taxpayer ceased employment on 18 November 1997.

As tax-free allowance certificates are only issued to persons in employment, no certificate of allowances will issue for the current tax year unless the taxpayer notifies the inspector of any change in her employment status.
