Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a number of former lecturers at Carysfort College, who have been deployed to universities, are still denied promotional opportunities; if he has received representations on this matter; the steps, if any, he will take to remedy [452] this injustice; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin): I am aware that representations have been made to my Department on behalf of the lecturers in question. All aspects of the matter are currently under consideration between my Department, the Higher Education Authority and the relevant universities with a view to resolving the outstanding issues as soon as possible.
