Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans, if any, he has to introduce reforms in relation to home improvement grants. [25215/98] Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Molloy) Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Molloy) Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Molloy): There is no general house improvement grant scheme currently available and I have no proposals to introduce such a scheme. However, I am, in the context of the Government's programme, An Action Programme for the Millennium, examining, on an ongoing basis, possible options to extend the range of measures currently available to assist individual low income households in securing necessary improvement works to their housing. I hope to be in a position to announce decisions in relation to the disabled persons grant scheme in the near future. Dáil Éireann 497 Written Answers Home Improvement Grants. Questions 19981126
