Higgins asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if and when his Department received a submission from Sligo County Council seeking funding for the development of an additional percolation area on land adjoining the Ballyfree halting site, Sligo, and for road improvements on the road leading to the halting site; if he will make an early decision on the contents of the submission; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Molloy): My Department received an application for funding from Sligo County Council on 17 September 1998 for works in connection with the Ballyfree halting site. Following consideration of the matter, the council has been informed that funding will be provided.
