[23102/98] Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. Walsh) Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. Walsh) Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. Walsh): I am aware of the study referred to. I accept there is need for continuing emphasis on training for farmers and farm workers with respect to the safe use of pesticides. In this connection, Teagasc operates a number of training and educational courses for farmers and people who are involved in the application and use of such products. In addition Teagasc has published a voluntary code of good practice, which is available to all farmers, on the handling, application and storage of pesticides on farms.
