Dáil Éireann - Volume 496 - 10 November, 1998 Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme. Mr. O'Shea Mr. O'Shea 677 238. Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Finance the proposals, if any, he has to decentralise [677] further Government Departments to Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22343/98] Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy) Charlie McCreevy Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy): The position is that the current programme of decentralisation has yet to be completed and there are no immediate plans to extend it to any further centres. However, I am considering the many issues relevant to decentralisation policy and I propose to discuss these with my colleagues in Government. The Deputy will be aware that Waterford has already benefited from the decentralisation programme with the location there of 141 staff of the Land Registry and 28 staff of the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs.
