Written Answers - Child Care Services.

488. Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Health and Children the updated position on the provision of a community child care centre at Ronanstown, Dublin 22; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17453/98]

Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children (Mr. Fahey): I understand that the Ronanstown Community Child Care Centre is occupied by the Ronanstown Child Care Centre Limited and is being operated by them as a Child Care Community Centre since 6 April last.

Capital funding for this facility was made available from a number of sources — including £100,000 from my Department payable through the Eastern Health Board. This funding will be paid by the board on completion of conveyancing procedures between South Dublin County Council and the centre. In addition, annual revenue funding of £60,000 per annum is being made available for the operation of the centre.
