Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Cowen): As the Deputy will be aware, the administration of the prison service including the prison medical service is a matter for my colleague the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform. The provision of treatment services for drug misusers would be a matter for him in the first instance. I [813] am aware that, by arrangement with the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Eastern Health Board consultant psychiatrists working in substance abuse provide services to Mountjoy Prison on a sessional basis.
