62. Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan still has not received contact lenses promised by the health board on 7 October 1997. [10213/98]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Cowen): As the provision of ophthalmic services for eligible persons in County Monaghan is the statutory responsibility of the North-Eastern Health Board, I have asked the chief executive officer of that health board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
