670. Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will grant official recognition to the Baltinglass Outdoor Education Centre, County Wicklow, in view of its successful record in outdoor education; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8586/98]

Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin): No additional outdoor education centres are being recognised by my Department pending a complete review of outdoor education centres generally.

A group to review this matter in was formed some time ago and its review is nearing completion. On receipt and consideration of the group's report the question of granting recognition to the centre at Baltinglass will be examined.
