Dáil Éireann - Volume 489 - 21 April, 1998 Written Answers. - Farm Retirement Scheme. Mr. Creed Mr. Creed 337. Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the proposals, if any, there are to amend the farm retirement scheme to allow participants to plant their lands for forestry. [9368/98] Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. Walsh) Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. Walsh) Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. Walsh): It is a condition that the transferor, who retires under the scheme of early retirement from farming, must release all his-her lands. Accordingly, it follows that a transferor would then not be in a position to plant lands he-she no longer held. However, under the scheme, a transferee who receives land from a transferor may plant part of the lands subject to certain limits. Dáil Éireann 489 Written Answers. Farm Retirement Scheme.
