Dáil Éireann - Volume 487 - 17 February, 1998

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

222. Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will provide funding to Ballinasloe Urban Council for the refurbishment of a housing estate (details supplied) to bring the estate and the quality of housing up to acceptable standards, and to provide improved access to each house, including new footpaths, adequate lighting, a play area and access to an open space; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4133/98]

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Molloy): There is no application for funding in my Department in respect of this estate. However, £654,000 was paid to the council under my Department's remedial works scheme for refurbishment works which were completed in 1989.
