Issue of Writ: Limerick East By-election.

Mr. Quinn: I move:

That the Ceann Comhairle direct the Clerk of the Dáil to issue his Writ for the election of a Member to fill the vacancy which has occurred in the membership of the present Dáil consequent on the death on 25 September 1997 of Deputy Jim Kemmy, a Member for the Constituency of Limerick East.

I ask the Government to ensure that election takes place on Friday, 13 March to facilitate weekend voting.
