Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the discussions, if any, he had with the Landlords' Association regarding the Housing (Registration of Rented Houses) Regulations, 1996; his future intentions, if any, on the issue; if the registration [457] fee will remain in its current form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Molloy): I met the Irish Property Owners' Association in July last and a number of aspects of the private rented sector were discussed. Reference was also made, in passing, to the proceedings on an application before the High Court for a judicial review of the regulations. In view of these proceedings, it would be inappropriate for me to comment further at this stage.
