[384] Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children (Dr. Moffatt): The information requested by the Deputy is set out in the following table. It should be noted that the delay in implementing Council Directive 93/43/EEC of 14 June 1993 and Directive 93/43/EEC on the hygiene of foodstuffs, was due to a long running industrial dispute involving environmental health officers employed by health boards. This dispute was resolved in late 1997 and arrangements are now being made to have these directives transposed as a matter of priority.
