Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department has received an application from Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9 regarding the provision of a migraine clinic in that hospital; and, if so, if he will make funding available for this clinic. [20497/97] Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Cowen) Brian Cowen Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Cowen): I have received representations on behalf of the Irish Migraine Association regarding the need for a headache and migraine clinic. I understand that the association has also been in communication with Beaumont Hospital on the matter. However, to date I have received no specific proposals from the hospital in this regard. 708 [708] On receipt of such proposals, they will fall to be considered within the context of the hospital's own priorities and the many competing demands for resources within the acute health sector.
